Bike tourism is increasingly popular. The number of people who want to explore destinations by bike is growing and destinations are in a race to out-rival each other with their bike tourism offer. Except Slovenia it seems. Marathon Franja director Gorazd Penko made the following statement about the topic this year: ,,Our cycling tourism, for which we have all natural prerequisites, is almost non-existent. I often wonder whether we are really that blind and incompetent.’’ It’s time to talk about bike tourism! Franja Academy will host several foreign experts who will present some of their best practices in bike tourism and answer questions such as who is the bike tourist, what are the most important requirements for bike tourism, how important is it to connect cultural heritage to bike tourism?
